Pre-Setup (Prior to Flashing phone)
Step 1: Purchase a Google Pixel phone. The latest compatible Google Pixels are the Pixel 9’s. As of 23rd February 2026
Step 2: Power on phone & complete the setup wizard. Connect to the internet.
Step 3: Once through the setup, Open settings, Go to the About Section, Scroll to the bottom, Press Build number 10 times. This puts the phone into developer mode. Now exit the About section.
Step 4: In Settings, Go to the System, Scroll to {Developer Options}, Click on it & Activate the following Settings. -OEM Unlocking, USB Debugging, Disable ABD Authorization, Select Default USB Configuration & Select File Transfer.
Step 5: Shutdown the Phone. Once Shutdown. Hold down Power Button & Volume Down button to open Boot Menu. Open its open the Pre Setup is done.
Installation of Graphene OS
Step 6: Go to https://grapheneos.org/install/web or Search Graphene Web Installer
Step 7: Aslong as you have the latest WebUSB Driver you should not have any problems.
Step 8: Scroll down to find the option “Unlock Bootloader” & Press “Unlock Bootloader”. A Small popup should appear with the option to select the Pixel Phone you have, Select the Phone, Pair, Press Unlock Bootloader & on the Phone user the volume down & volume up buttons to move through and find unlock bootloader, press power button to select
Step 9: Once unlocked, On the Graphene Web Installer page, Select Download Release, Time to download will depend on internet & is not a large file.
Step 10: Once downloaded, select Flash release and that will install it onto the phone.
Step 11: Once flash is selected go to lock bootloader, use the volume buttons to navigate the options until you see lock bootloader and use the power button to activate it
Step 12: Phone should restart & open up into the setup wizard. Disable the option that asks about Location Data, Setup a Alpha Numeric or Numeric password.
